Black Bean Hummus

I’m addicted to hummus. There. I said it. Give me some kind of veggie/protein base, mix it with some tahini and lemon juice and BAM! I’m sold. A new recipe I’m in LOVE with…Black bean hummus! It actually becomes a really beautiful dip when it is all blended together. Instead of turning super dark it takes on a purple colour. Purple protein deliciousness.

Here are some highlights about black beans…

  1. No fat and high in protein

  2. High in protein and fiber

  3. Has no fat

  4. Source of folate, copper, manganese, and vitamin B1

Now lets make some purple dip!

Black Bean Hummus

  6. 2 tsp salt (or garlic salt)

  7. 1/2 tsp pepper

  8. 1 tsp cumin

Directions

  1. Put all ingredients in a blender or food processor

  2. Blend until smooth

  3. If it is too thick add some more olive oil, lemon juice, or water (depending on the type of flavour you desire).
